Copper grease – or copper ‘slip’ – is still used on pads and caliper pins – old habits die hard as they say. Copper grease is sold as an anti-seize and high temperature grease but it is NOT a good lubricant. Caliper pins sieze because they are invariably coated with petroleum based greases – like copper grease. Caliper pins require a lubricant NOT an anti-seize grease.
